Susie's Deals

When I recently visited Susie's Deals, I found an Anne Taylor long sleeve black sweater that was originally $72.00, and it was on sale for $7.99. There was another sweater that was Talbot brand which was originally $68.00 and the price was changed to $7.99. They have a ton of name brand clothing items that are marked down to reasonable prices.

The prices are ridiculous! Usually they're priced between $5.99-$9.99.

There are stores all over Southern California.

They don't have a lot up on their website, but I encourage you to visit the stores. I recently found the store and was shocked at the deals that they were having, and the different brand names that were displayed.

http://www.susiesdeals.com/ Check it out (: Happy shopping

Later that day...I ended up stopping by the store and got myself two shirts for $7.99 each. One was a black shirt from Forever 21 that was originally $18.99 and a red blouse from Love on a Hanger(a brand from Nordstroms) and love them both. There were so many clothes and with a little digging, I found great picks.
I really hope you check it out! They definitely have great deals (:

Skirts

Now that it's time for people to start looking for new clothing items for the spring, I found that there are some sales on skirts. Skirts have been in fashion lately, and Forever 21 has been having some price cuts online. Here are a few items I've found that can fit with many different outfits. I found some items on sale at Forever 21 and the Gap. Both have sale racks full of great finds. The key to getting a great outfit on sale, is having the patience to look through the sale racks and knowing that you may not find exactly what you're looking for. I have to come into a store with an open mind for the sale racks, and usually find something that's better than what I expected! Good luck shopping ! (:
This lace skirt is only $7.99 at Forever 21. This skirt can be dressed up or dressed down. You can pair it with some heels, like in this shot, or some flats to make the look more casual. In my opinion, it's a skirt that would look better if it were dressed up.

This adorable blue polka dot skirt is found at Forever 21 for $13.52. I feel it would be best to use this skirt for a casual day, because it can be pairs with boots, flats or sandals. It would go great with a white T-shirt as well.

This is a tweed skirt from the Gap for $14.99. The price was lowered immensely and makes this a great deal. It can be dressed up or down. Also, it can be worn with or without tights. It's great for interviews but also can be worn for a date night.

This skirt is from Forever 21 for $15.99. It has a zipper down the front and can be casual or dressy. I liked this pick because it had unusual details on it and makes it interesting to the eye.

This skirt was the biggest steal I found today because the skirts at the Gap are usually pretty pricey. This skirt was regularly $50 but I found it for $19.99! The pencil skirt will not go out of style because of the amount of class it has.

I hope that you all find what you're looking for when you go out shopping, and remember to have patience with those sale racks!

TOMS

I have quite a passion about these particular shoes and wanted to make sure I wrote about them before I moved on in sale shopping. I believe these shoes have caused a huge movement in our world today. Wearing TOM's not only makes you an owner of a great pair of shoes, but also allows you to send a pair of shoes to a child in need in another country.
This organization is really contributing to our society in a great way and I encourage all of you who are willing and able to participate in this movement. I myself, have two pairs of TOM's shoes and intend on getting more to donate more shoes to those in need.
While also being a fashion statement, you're a person who is giving.

This pair is $44.00. Olive green canvas

This pair is $54.00. Black glitters

This men's pair is $69.00 and are called Cordones.

This is a bota for $79.00

If you think about it, you're truly buying two pairs of shoes, so it's a reasonable price. You're just giving that second pair to a person that really needs it in a country that needs it most.

Shirts for Cheap

When searching for the right apparel, I find that most shoppers are looking for good deals. In shopping, there is always a regular shopper, and then the smart shopper. The regular shopper tends to buy whatever is on the rack, not paying attention to prices. The smart shopper will do their research before actually purchasing an item. I'll show you a few ways to shop at stores to find good deals.
Keeping the budget under $20.00 for a T-shirt today seems to be a problem, but I'll show you some smart buys that are out there and available for you. Here are a few items you can purchase at a Forever 21 for less than $20.00.
This black top was marked down recently and can be worn with anything. You can dress this shirt up with some jewelry and accessories. You can also dress it down with a pair of jeans and flats. It's a perfect buy for only $3.50.

This is from Forever 21 as well and is a simple T shirt for men. The Forever 21 brand for men is actually called 21Men and has really good deals on men's clothing. This shirt happens to only be $5.90.

This shirt has thicker material, to make it feel like you're wearing a sweatshirt. It's priced at $12.99 and is a lightweight fabric, so it can be worn in warm or colder weather.

This T-shirt was interesting to me because the zipper leads to a small pocket. It's a lightweight fabric and priced at $13.90. This shirt, paired with a black jacket, could also be dressed up. It's also great for casual wear.

This shirt has a lightweight fabric and has a fabric that is supposed to be "roomy". It allows for a comfortable T-shirt to wear around. This is more of a casual look, but could be paired with boots and jewelry to dress it up, if needed. This item is priced at $14.80.

Lastly, is a men's flannel shirt, also from 21Men, and is great year-round. $15.90 for this buy.

As you can see, it's easy to bargain shop, if you're willing to look at the FOR SALE racks. Forever 21 and 21Men are designed to have cheaper prices, with good quality clothing. With deals this great, it's worth it!
All these looks are in style and cheap for a college budget.

Daniel Pawley

Upon meeting Pawley, I saw that he was a man of great interest. He showed his love for travel from the start of his lecture. Seeing his plethora of displayed items, showed me that he was very passionate about where he had visited. The memorabilia displayed each had stories behind them that showed more about Pawley and the type of man he was. I found each of his different items fascinating and the stories behind them even more enthralling.
The first item that he showed was a baby doll that was given to him when he spoke at a conference in Taiwan. The organizers of the conference had given it to him for speaking.
Another thing that Daniel Pawley had displayed for the students, was a bat from Japan. This particular item held a lot of importance because of the reason he had purchased it. Pawley explained that the Japanese people were not very religious, although at baseball games made the people act in ways that resembled religious actions. Pawley had gone to the games to examine what the fans did during the game, and buying the souvenir made him think about the time that he had observed these particular people. He also went into explaining that the people would burst into a tune when a favorite player had a great hit. The Japanese baseball games were much different than the American baseball games according to Pawley.
Another item on Pawley's display was a replica of a building. Pawley explained that the building was actually a front of an important church that had been burned in the past. This church front is in a place called Macau, which is close to Hong Kong. This is a photograph of the actual church that the replica was created from.

Lastly, Pawley presented a jar full of colorful sand that were fed into the vase to create shapes and designs. It was from Jordan in Petra where the city is carved into a mountainside. This is where he got the memorabilia.
Since Daniel Pawley has traveled to all of these different locations, he had opinions on where the best food was and where the best places to travel were. The first location that he had went to was England in 1975 because his band was playing a show there. After this first time of travel, he decided it was something that he wanted to do a lot more of.
His two favorite countries were Japan and Israel. When he went to Israel, he bought a picture of an hourglass that had the entire book of Ecclesiastes written inside of it. This particular piece was very special to Pawley and he went on to say, "...intriguing book, but I don't know what it's doing in the bible" and "it's all about despair". At the bottom of the art piece, there is a word that says "Kohelet", which means preacher or teacher. Pawley seemed very fond of this art, and keeps it in a safe place.
Going on during the interview, a question was asked about which piece was the most important to Pawley and he explained that a small statue of pillars were his most important because he "loves the country of Greece". He was comparing the ancient fans to the modern fans and got to see the old arenas. He said that the pillars reminded him of all the ruins throughout Greece and found that extremely important.
Pawley has done a lot of traveling in his lifetime, and hopes to do much more. The items collected will forever remind him of all the adventures he had through these countries.
